NOTE: this is a tutorial mainly for the clanmembers that want to play competetively on clanbase or any other league. all the commands you see here are recomended for competetive play that most well known players use in league matches.
(i copied some stuff cause i didnt want to write all of it ;D but most stuff i typed myself but stuff like the lagometer image is ripped from a site and some command explenations since im not english)
hope you appreciate my guide.
i'll start off with some standard netcode/performance/tool commands that should improve gameplay with a small explenation of what the command does.
/com_maxfps 125 //if you have a good pc that can achieve and maintain this fps then it will improve game smoothness and gameplay. if your pc can handle it try locking fps to 250fps.
/snaps "30" //(default 20) The snaps setting is used to calculate how many gameworld updates you receive from the server.
Setting: Snaps should always be set to match or be above the server's sv_fps.
/sv_fps "30" //(default 20) basicly the same thing like above but then the stuff thats being sent to the player so higher value will probably improve gameplay but also takes up more bandwith.
/cl_maxpackets 100 //default 30, only set to 100 if you have a good broadband connection otherwise leave default or something in between.
/cl_packetdup "1" //This setting determines if duplicate commands are sent, range is 1 to 5 and is 1 as default. If a packet gets lost then a 'backup' command may still be received. Set to 1 as default which is recommended if you have packet loss.
Setting: Set to 1 as default which is recommended if you have packet loss. If you have an excellent connection with very little or no packetloss at all then this could be set to 0 and cl_maxpackets possibly raised.
/rate "25000" //Control packets so that your connection bandwidth does not get saturated. Setting controls maximum bytes per second.
Setting: Unless you’re on a 56k modem, you should keep this at 25000
/cg_drawlagometer 1 // tool explenation below.
The Top Line:
The first line is related to your graphics card updating displayed frames in time with received gameworld updates from the server.
Blue: Frames are being rendered in time with the world updates.
Yellow: Gameworld updates are not being displayed and are being dropped.
Fix: Reduce your snaps or tweak your visual settings to raise your average framerate so it is always above your snaps setting.
The Bottom Line:
The second line relates to your connection and packet performance.
Green: Packets are being received okay.
Yellow: Capping is causing your client to reject packets
Fix: Increase your rate or try lowering your snaps.
Red: The packet was lost.
Fix: Change ISP or server. If you have to play on the server or use the ISP then make sure that your cl_packetdup is set to 1 and try adjusting snaps and cl_maxpackets to compensate for the lost packets.
